About the role

As our new Digital Content Manager, you will be responsible for managing and producing Arco’s non-product online content and user experience across the online estate. This will involve embedding and managing robust content lifecycle processes via a combination of CMS expertise and process governance whilst providing a strategic approach to the maturity of non-product content creation, publication systems and processes.

Our new Digital Content Manager will be accountable for 100’s of pages of web content consumed by Arco customers across a circa £80million online estate and will inherit two highly competent, direct reports who form the team and who are responsible for the day to day building of content, working alongside our Developers who complete the request changes and coding workload.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the production and delivery of all non-product web content across the Arco online estate whilst maintaining design standards and content production standards across the Digital Production team

  • Significantly contributing to the Arco online style and brand guidelines to ensure that the Arco and associated brand visuals are represented consistently across the Arco online estate

  • Defining the ways of working with the Software Engineering and Product Management teams and ensuring those ways of working are adhered to (with specific regard to deploying page and microsite content via the CMS – currently Hybris WCMS)

  • Consulting and providing strategic guidance on the maturity of CMS systems (and approach) across the Arco online estate

  • Managing and facilitating career development of the digital production team ensuring that new industry concepts and best practise remain at the forefront of team training, whilst defining and managing the SLA’s that the team work to

  • Generating creative mock-ups and concepts in response to creative briefs provided by eCommerce and marketing stakeholders, and driving a digital first approach to content within the business engaging with key stakeholder to ensure digital is at the forefront of all campaigns

  • Creating and maintaining rules, documentation, media templates and other assets relating to the CMS for use by the content management team and writing requirements for and testing of new (or updates to existing) CMS functionality

About you

The ideal Digital Content Manager will be/have:

  • Prior experience of effectively managing, leading, and motivating creative digital production teams

  • Proven experience in producing effective creative solutions via the production of prototypes, wireframes and user journey maps as well as designing and creating content for desktop, tablet, and mobile applications

  • Intimate understanding and expert-level practitioner of front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery & other libraries)

  • Significant, proven experience of managing and operating enterprise-wide CMS systems e.g. WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco and CMS integration with leading commerce platforms such as SAP Commerce (Hybris), Magento, WooCommerce, etc.

  • Deep understanding of technical SEO concepts and their application via CMS systems

  • Proven ability to stay at the forefront of new and emerging web content principles and the latest technologies

  • Thorough and proven operational understanding of the software development lifecycle and the various methodologies to drive it, for example Scrum or Waterfall
