Reporting to the Regional Director, you will be responsible for bringing in depth knowledge to support the Midlands Construction Business to grow the business and increase revenue. As the Business Development Manager you will be the focal point for identifying new leads, selling Kiers capabilities in the market and building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients and partners.
As the Business Development Manager you will be an active and integral part of the regional senior leadership team allowing you to develop and own a business development strategy, in conjunction with the Regional Director, such that the investment in pre-construction is both structured and focused with the business goals in sight. It will be your responsibility to present Kier to potential clients and partners through multiple communication mediums in a manner that enhances the relationships and fosters opportunities. You will own, organise and deliver marketing activities and events for the region in line with the agreed strategy and budget along with owning and managing the pipeline of opportunities, whilst growing this in line with the strategy and in a sustainable manner.
As an integral part of the senior leadership team, you will report on Business Development activities at the management board such that actions can be agreed and developments tracked. You will need to develop a thorough understanding of client’s objectives, their organisation, their personnel and their capital works programme. Formulating a ’Key Account Management’ strategy and leading this for the leadership team. Being the centre for current affairs within the region and industry, keeping informed about issues affecting the industry sector and collect competitor information will be vital. This role will also see you own the Client Satisfaction monitoring and act with the business leadership on actions that are needed to maintain a high client satisfaction in line with Key Performance Indicators.
What do we need from you?
The successful candidate will have solid experience in a like for like role working on a wide variety of sectors public and private including leisure, residential, education, defence, hospitality and healthcare projects. A proven track record in delivering sales across a diverse client base and proven experience in business development activities. You will have exceptional relationship management and networking abilities coupled with a genuine passion for the sector. Also have personal and professional demeanour and credibility, which commands confidence of external partners, key stakeholders, members, clients, senior managers and employees. You must have strong communication skills in all forms and IT literacy. Be the senior representative for the region in presenting the business to its clients and partners. You will take ownership of the function and its outcomes developing a strong and sustainable pipeline of opportunities and contacts with key performance objectives.
