Your responsibilities

    The role of the Maintenance Engineer is to carry out electrical works to a high standard, liaising with the appropriate staff and managers where required.

    You will be responsible for allocating and carrying out tasks from the Facilities Task List ensuring Health & Safety tasks are carried out as soon as reasonably possible and arranging planned preventative maintenance.

  • Installation of new supplies, removal of old and repair or replace existing supplies
  • Complete scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Investigate mechanical and electrical failures, including fault finding
  • Obtain costs for works, materials & equipment and seek appropriate authority
  • Consider environmental impact/consumption and liaise with Environmental department when necessary
  • Carry out weekly fire alarm testing
  • Obtain safety data sheets for any substances purchased and complete and review risk assessments for works, tasks and substances used
  • Attend training as required

Your qualification

  • At least 3 years’ experience in electrical repairs, install and testing is required
  • Electrical Installations (BS7671 2008) 18th Edition
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff, management, visitors and service providers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative
