We’re looking for a Quality Assurance expert to join our busy team and beresponsible for ensuring that suppliers into the Foodbuy external Clients businesses supply products that are safe, legal and of the quality that the client specifies and is paying for. You will also support the purchasing team and Account Managers with technical information about their suppliers and supply chains.

More About The Role

• To inspect supplier premises on behalf of Foodbuy and Foodbuy Clients on a regular basis to ensure continued satisfactory levels of hygiene etc. Create suitable reports of those inspections to upload onto Foodbuy and client websites. Follow up on any non conformances raised during the inspections to ensure full closure.
• To explain and advise suppliers on their contractual obligations with particular reference to specifications and price variations.
• To inspect products at suppliers premises and delivered to Clients premises to ensure that they comply with contractual and legal requirements, following up with suppliers on any discrepancies.
• To check that the invoice description and products delivered agree.
• To advise client catering staff and management on contractual procedures including ordering and receiving goods, complaints procedures etc.
• To liaise with suppliers, Clients and Foodbuy support teams to resolve customer complaints including foreign bodies, alleged food poisoning, allergen issues.
• To support Client representatives during precontract audits in preparation of supplier contracts ensuring the supplier has the resources and ability to maintain the service required over the contractual period.
• Liaise between suppliers and Clients when disputes occur
• Attend regular Client meetings as required
• To support the Account Managers with information about suppliers capabilities.
• Support Foodbuy buyers when necessary.
• Liaise with the Client and Account Managers if suppliers are failing to maintain their businesses in a satisfactory manner
• Completion of Announced/Unannounced client premises back door visits and Kitchen audits to published schedule, posting reports on Client websites
• Nurture and improve the suppliers systems to the benefit of the Client, advising improvements as necessary
  

Who You Are

• Minimum 5 years food manufacturing technical or QA experience
• BRC / SALSA auditor training and experience.
• Meat expertise preferred with knowledge of meat specifications.
• Articulate knowledge of food legislation
• Confident presenter and versatile influencer, not afraid to challenge across all levels of seniority
• Evidence of an ability to work independently and cross-functionally
• Computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
